Anita Paddy's Profile
Anita Paddy is an emerging researcher, and a mental health advocate with admirable experience. She is a practicing clinical health psychologist at the 37 Military Teaching Hospital, offering biopsychosocial support to clients and helping them maximize their health outcomes, regardless of their medical conditions. She is also an adjunct lecturer of psychology at the Daniel Institute of International Central Gospel Church, Accra.
She holds a Master of Philosophy in Clinical Health Psychology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Cape Coast. Her specialty is in maternal and child health, managing chronic illnesses and building resilience.
Ms. Paddy is the former National Organising Secretary of Ghana Psychological Association (GPA) but currently the Vice President for Life Developers’ Movement; and doubles as secretary for Ghana Society of Behavioural Medicine and Health (GSBMH) and Psychological Relief for Women International (PReWI). She is also a member of Mental Health Advocacy Ghana (MHAG).
Ms. Paddy has been involved with a lot of community service. Some of which include featuring in a documentary by Joynews entitled Voices in the head, and being part of a client 's success story, My journey with Bipolar disorder, a KSM show, and as well, providing psychosocial cover during breast cancer screening and awareness by Thedrjosfine. She was a co-host to Ocean 1's "M'adwen mu ns3m" (mental health matters). She has been an associate consultant to some corporate bodies, educating them on mental health issues and providing services for their employees. She loves to read and listen to music; and as part of her hobbies, she would travel around and admire nature. She has a can-do spirit and believes that, per one's strength and capabilities, what you put your mind to is achievable. Her approach to life is keeping things simple, and taking one step at a time. She faces challenges with her sweet smile. She's a mentor to many young people and encourages them to set realistic and achievable goals.
